Connor Williams

OT, Texas

There’s really nothing right now Connor Williams can do in terms of helping his team on the field. With knee surgery up next for the offensive tackle, Williams will now have to begin the rehab process as the team hopes he can return this season.

Prior to that, Williams had a bit of an up and down season to date. He had some strange penalties that didn’t seem befitting of his past success and wasn’t quite playing up to the level that people are used to seeing him.

His draft stock shouldn’t take too much of a hit so long as he is able to get healthy and there will be plenty of time until pre-draft workouts begin and the combine. The talent is there with him and for right now it’s just a waiting game.

It’s a tough spot for a draft prospect as they want to be on the field. Williams certainly has an argument to make to be considered one of the best in the nation. He is a huge loss for a line reeling with injuries.

Baker Mayfield

QB, Oklahoma

Baker Mayfield certainly is in the Heisman discussion and his perfect start to the season could have him at the top. With a huge win on the road over Ohio State and his team playing their best, Mayfield has elevated his draft stock.

He’s another one of those quarterbacks that could very likely shoot up and break into the top because of his talent alone. He only passed the ball 19 times against Baylor but was efficient in the win.

He finished 13 of 18 with 283 yards and three touchdowns. His ability to extend plays with his legs and somehow make something out of nothing is not a trait that every quarterback is blessed with.

This season has been his shining moment thus far and he is making sure everyone knows that his team is a true contender. With each passing week his stock rises just a little bit more. They have a home game against Iowa State before the big showdown with Texas.
