Fantasy football Week 4 rankings: Who to start and sit
Sit: Alshon Jeffery
Through three weeks, Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles offense has looked entirely rejuvenated and improved from last season’s poor showing. Although the running game is not getting going in a fantasy sense (the Eagles are a top ten rushing team but no individual player is having huge success), the team is able to move the ball through the air and have put up over 250 yards and 25 points per game on average.
However, Wentz has struggled at times with pressure and taken 11 sacks and missed some huge opportunities through the air. Against the Giants, Wentz had Jeffery open for a huge touchdown deep, but floated the ball way over his head and out of reach. Although the early returns have been good (14 catches, 186 yards and a touchdown), Jeffery hasn’t been an elite fantasy asset so far.
This week, he faces a Chargers defensive unit that is top five in stopping the pass (only 176 yards per game) and travels to the West Coast for an afternoon game. Although the Eagles are are 2-1 and the Chargers 0-3, this could be a tough outing for Philly, especially as they lost Darren Sproles for the season – an essential ingredient in their passing game.
