Start: Leonard Fournette

Based on what we’ve seen from the 2017 NFL draft running backs, we don’t need to be worried about this group or start treating them as rookies who may struggle. Fournette, Dalvin Cook, Kareem Hunt and others are all making their mark early. Fournette should continue with this early success against the New York Jets this Sunday.

The Jets are allowing 133.3 yards per game on the ground so far (sixth-most), while the Jags have a top five rushing offense (140 yards per game) and Fournette is clearly the focal point of their new offense under Doug Marrone. The rookie is behind only Todd Gurley and Dalvin Cook is rushing attempts so far on the season (57), seventh in yards (199), and tied for second in touchdowns (three).

When you’re debating lineup decisions this weekend, Fournette should be one of the first names to be plugged in as a starter. He’s in line for an outstanding rookie campaign, but despite touchdowns in each of his first three games, he hasn’t had a huge breakout game yet. Against New York on Sunday, he could go big.
