2018 NFL Mock Draft: With Jets win, QB no longer guaranteed
By Brad Weiss
The New York Giants have played terrible football this season, and their star wide receiver has dominated the back page due to his on-the-field antics. The truth is that the Giants are terrible up front on offense, and they really need to do something about left tackle. That position is being held by former first rounder Ereck Flowers, and it is clear that he is not an NFL left tackle at this point in his career.
In 2018, the Giants need to bolster that offensive line, and Mike McGlinchey may be the best available offensive lineman in the draft. McGlinchey could have been the first offensive tackle off the board last season, but came back for another shot at a title in South Bend. He would anchor the Giants offensive line, and while No. 4 is early for an offensive lineman, McGlinchey is certainly worth the pick.
Quarterback Eli Manning is getting up there in age, and it is clear he cannot get the ball to his receivers without time in the pocket. The Giants also have a non-existent run game, so the offensive line being so bad is causing a bad domino effect. This team was supposed to challenge for the NFC East crown, but it looks like they are going to struggle to get in the win column with a couple tough games ahead of them.
