Texas A&M Aggies (3-1)

Last week: Win vs. Arkansas, 50-43 (OT)
Last rank: 9th

After blowing their first game of the season at the Rose Bowl to the UCLA Bruins, the Texas A&M Aggies have rattled off three straight wins to get to 3-1. While few would think the Aggies are a real contender in the SEC, they’ll win some games. They’re coming off a thrilling one over the rival Arkansas Razorbacks in the Southwest Classic.

Texas A&M could win somewhere between seven and nine games this season. They have the weapons in Christian Kirk and Trayveon Williams, but will head coach Kevin Sumlin do enough to take himself off the hot seat in October and beyond?

Florida Gators (2-1)

Last week: Win at Kentucky, 28-27
Last rank: 5th

Florida is far from a perfect program, but the Gators are a ranked one and could be looking at 3-0 in SEC play after Week 5’s game with the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Gators can definitely win the SEC East, assuming they can beat Georgia in Jacksonville at the end of October.

We know that the defense is good and the offense is really inconsistent. The Gators won’t be favored to three-peat in the SEC East, but this is a team that can totally win 10 games this season. Will probably need to win a meaningful bowl game to do so.
