Philadelphia Phillies: Eduardo Nunez

The Phillies are a rebuilding team that should consider beginning to spend money in an effort to ramp up for the epic class of free agents that will hit the market after the 2018 season. The Phillies are beginning to see returns on their rebuild with talented young players beginning to take over around the diamond with solid results. With all due respect to Cody Bellinger, Rhys Hoskins may be the best rookie in the NL this year. Nick Williams and Aaron Altherr have also played well in the outfield next to Odubel Herrera.

Philadelphia is close to fielding a winning team, but the starting rotation took a big step back this year. The options on the market this winter are sparse, and the Phillies will have to wait out another year of development and hope that Vince Velasquez and Jerad Eickhoff can bounce back.

Maikel Franco was one of the most disappointing players in the league this year, but the Phillies have no one to push him. For better or worse, Franco was going to start this year despite his miserable production. He may not be the franchise building block the Phillies thought they were getting.

The Red Sox will be making an aggressive push to retain utility infielder Eduardo Nunez, but he would be the perfect addition to the Phillies next year. He can play every infield position and would bring the type of veteran leadership Franco and the youngsters need to take the next step forward.
