9. Chris Johnson

As a team, the Arizona Cardinals have rushed for 177 yards on 64 carries, with an appalling 2.8 yards per carry average. Their longest run on the season went for 11 yards, a pretty abysmal stat.

However, there is hope. This week, the Cardinals face the San Francisco 49ers, who give up 124.3 yards per game – good for 23rd in the league –  and just surrendered three touchdowns to Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley last Thursday night.

Sure, Chris Johnson is nowhere near his best and is arguably “past it”, but it’s clear the team doesn’t view Kerwynn Williams or Andre Ellington as options for the early down back role. Chris Johnson has 23 carries so far in the season, compared to Williams’ 15 and Ellington’s 7 – and CJ2K wasn’t on the roster in Week 1.

With Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald making things happen through the air, there will still be opportunities for whoever ends up as the lead back to steal a couple of touchdowns, and Johnson will likely have the best chance to be that back against the 49ers this weekend.
