5. Jamaal Charles

When the Broncos go, both running backs CJ Anderson and Jamaal Charles are what make them go. It’s not simply a matter of Anderson taking over the calories as a bellcow, but Charles is also able to contribute heavily. When Denver has had success this season, it’s been due to a strong running game.

In fact, last week against the Buffalo Bills, Charles had nine carries compares to Anderson’s eight, 56 yards compared to Anderson’s 36, and was the only one of the two to find the end zone. Charles has a 5.1 per carry average on the season compare to Anderson’s 4.4, so it’s clear that JC superstar still has tread on the tires.

Charles is one of the all-time greats, yet after missing two years of fantasy football, is still being overlooked. When the Denver Broncos face division rival Oakland raiders this weekend, it’ll feel like somewhat of a throwback with a clash between Charles and Marshawn Lynch, and I expect Charles to have the better day of the two.
