Espanyol, currently 12th in the table, had a bad start to their La Liga campaign, going winless in their first three matches, losing two. They have bounced back since then, winning two of their last three. They are coming off an impressive 4-1 home win over Deportivo La Coruna. Striker Gerard provided a second-half double to seal the win.

While Real Madrid may appear vulnerable at the moment, no team enjoys visiting the Bernabeu. Espanyol will gladly settle for a point.
