9. Florida vs. Georgia

The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party is always a fun event. The annual battle between the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs routinely brings it as far as SEC East implications. And this year is proving to be no different.

As of now, Georgia and Florida are both unbeaten in SEC play. The Gators have jumped out to a 3-0 start. They’ve racked up wins against Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Kentucky. The ‘Dawgs, meanwhile, have opened 2-0. They may look even more impressive with wins over Mississippi State and Tennessee.

It’s not so much the competition as much as it’s how they got those wins. UGA beat both the Bulldogs and Volunteers by the combined score of 72-3. That includes the 41-0 shutout they pitched on Saturday in Knoxville.

This one’s not until October 28. But the truth is, both teams should be able to handle their schedules to make this one interesting. Georgia’s road looks to be easy. They go to Vanderbilt and then host Missouri before a bye week. Florida meanwhile hosts LSU and Texas A&M. The Tigers, of course, lost to Troy on Saturday night. Even if they were to lose one game on the way, the likelihood of this game impacting the SEC East race is high. No matter who wins this game, they’ll likely have the road to Atlanta paved pretty well for them.

That, alone, makes this one to watch. Especially if you’re a SEC enthusiast.
