Fantasy football 2017: Top 10 waiver wire Week 5 pickups
7. Tyrell Williams
After a disappointing start to the season following a tremendous breakout last year in which Williams hauled in 69 balls for 1,059 yards and seven touchdowns, the Charges receiver broke free for his first big play this season with a 75-yard touchdown against the Eagles on Sunday. He finished the day with five catches for 115 and looks to be back in business.
With the return of Keenan Allen this year, Williams had been held to only 123 yards and 11 grabs before this contest but now, he’s right back in the thick of things and could be a valuable player now that we’ve started to hit bye weeks.
Philip Rivers, despite his team’s 0-3 start, has been dishing the ball around and has thrown six TDs and 1,107 yards (seventh in the league) in his for outings so far. Moving forward, Williams could be a beneficiary and might be worth an addition to your benches. If he’s not there, keep a close eye on rookie Mike Williams as the rookie could be involved when returning from a preseason back injury.
