Fantasy football 2017: Top 10 waiver wire Week 5 pickups
6. Deshaun Watson
At the quarterback position, we are looking for different makers. It’s the most streamable and easily replaceable position, and it’s not hard to find a QB who can manage 15 to 20 points per game and be reliable for you. However, what is hard to find is a player who can single-handedly win again week for you.
This weekend, against the Tennessee Titans, Deshaun Watson did exactly that. Watson was the top overall scorer in standard leagues this week, and only behind Le’Veon Bell and Todd Gurley in PPR. He had a historic week that immediately puts him among one of the best young signal-callers in the league.
It wasn’t just a one-off, as he put up numbers against the Patriots defense last week too, with 300 yards and two touchdowns. Watson is clearly a quick learner, and if he wasn’t picked up last week, it’s essential that he isn’t left on waivers for any longer.
