Mike McGlinchey

Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

It has been a strange year for the New York Giants, who many expected to be the class of the NFC East this season. Through the first four games of their schedule, the Giants have yet to find the win column, and the offensive line has been tortured each week. They spent a first-round pick on Ereck Flowers a few years ago, and it is clear that he is not a left tackle in the NFL.

With their first pick in April, the Giants should look to bring in that anchor offensive tackle that can lead their line for the next ten years. Mike McGlinchey could have been a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, but instead returned to South Bend for another go at it. He will be the first offensive lineman off the board, and the Giants desperately need someone who has his blend of size and power.

Quarterback Eli Manning is getting up there in age, and he cannot continue to take the kind of shots he has taken this season. He needs to be able to be comfortable in the pocket, which will enable him to hit Odell Beckham Jr. for big plays. Their defense has the talent to be elite, but the offense has not held their end of the bargain this season, and it looks like it may be another year on the outside looking come playoff time.
