5 reasons Indians should be very worried about a Yankees upset in ALDS

3. Cleveland Indians are facing a ton of pressure

Why it matters: The Indians are the odds-on favorite to win the World Series, and rightfully so. The team has a much-improved roster from the one that played in the World Series a year ago and the players who were there have only gotten better. They truly have it everything a team needs: a Cy Young caliber ace pitcher in Core Kluber, a very good rotation behind him, a deep bullpen, and a multi-faceted offense that can beat you in different ways.

Lest we forget Cleveland had a 22 game winning streak, which is absurd in baseball. They came oh-so-close to winning it all last year. This all sounds like the Indians should smoke the Yankees, right?

I don’t believe they will because the Yankees are perfectly capable of beating the Indians, especially in Game 1 on Thursday. Cleveland has elected to start Trevor Bauer. The Yankees could parlay their momentum from the Wild Card victory into a win while avoiding Kluber right off the bat. The first time the Yankees win a game, the pressure really shifts to the Indians. They’re the odds-on favorite.They’re going to have to face the questions if they lose a game or two. The Yankees aren’t supposed to be able to match the Indian rotation.

New York can just keep playing their game while the pressure and expectations fall on Cleveland..
