1. New York has the best bullpen in baseball

Why it matters: The biggest weakness for the Yankees is their starting rotation. It’s flat out not very special and would seem to hold them back in postseason play. The yin to that yang is the Yankees boast the best bullpen in baseball. Critics would point to the Indians pen having a better ERA, but I would point to the Yankees having a better WAR and K/9 with more innings pitched.

The New York bullpen is also the main reason they won the Wild Card game. Sure, we got some #AllRIse action from Aaron Judge to put that game on ice. The Yankee pen still pitched 8 2/3 innings while only giving up 1 run and striking out 13 batters. Lining up some combination of Adam Warren, Chad Green, Tommy Kahnle, David Robertson, Dellin Betances and Aroldis Chapman is just lethal. Any of these guys can enter the game at any point and shut down the opposing offense. The Yankee bullpen is potentially the greatest weapon left in the playoffs and it proved why in the Wild Card game.
