Fantasy football Week 5 2017 rankings: Who to start and sit
Start: Jameis Winston
There’s no one worse than the Patriots at defending the pass. In fact, only two teams (Tampa Bay and New England) are giving up over 300 yards per game through the air – and New England allow 324. Jameis Winston is coming off a three-touchdown game against the New York Giants and has another opportunity to be a difference-maker for his fantasy owners.
Alex Smith threw 386 yards and four touchdowns and Drew Brees had a clean game with a pair of TDs and no picks. Rookie megastar Deshaun Watson had a slightly more difficult outing with two interceptions, but still topped 300 yards and two touchdowns. Last week, after having thrown only two touchdowns in his first three games, Cam Newton was resurrected with a 316 yard, three touchdown day against this defense that can’t stop anyone.
Every single week, you should be starting your quarterbacks against New England, and this week it’s Winston’s turn. The third-year QB has thrown for over 300 yards and at least two touchdowns in two of his first three games, and look for that trend to continue in Week 5.
