2. Devin Funchess

Last week, I thought it would be Kelvin Benjamin who was the receiver in Carolina to benefit most from facing the awful New England Patriots defense. It turns out while Benjamin led the team in yards with 104 on four grabs, Devin Funchess found the end zone twice and was a fantasy game winner with seven catches and 70 yards. This week, he could be a contributor again.

So far to this point in his career, Funchess has been a disappointment. A second round pick in 2015, he’d only managed to put together 844 yards on 54 catches before this year – although he had a knack for finding the end zone with nine touchdowns. At his current pace (this year, he has 17 grabs, 216 yards and two scores, he will smash his career bests if he continues at this rate.

Throughout college he suffered majorly with a case of the dropsies, and they carried over for a while, but he looks much more polished in 2017 and has a big body that is extremely difficult to defend. Funchess leads the team in receiving yards (with only two more than Benjamin), but is definitely gaining his quarterback’s trust and Cam will look is way more often than not.

Against a Lions defense that is giving up 263.3 yards through the air (21st in the league), it won’t be easy, but Funchess has a chance to continue his success in this huge NFC matchup.
