Ben McAdoo

Head Coach, New York Giants

It’s next to impossible to bounce back fro 0-4 and make the playoffs, and Ben McAdoo is staring down a 0-5 start to the season. If the Giants lose on Sunday to the Chargers, there will be nothing standing in the way of serious questions about McAdoo’s future as the Giants head coach.

Just take a moment to really appreciate how insane this season has been. We’re entering Week 5 talking about a New York coach who needs to avoid going 0-5 to save his job — and it’s not the Jets or Todd Bowles. McAdoo has done everything from botching game plans to throwing his Super Bowl-winning quarterback under the bus more than once. Eli Manning may be closer to the end of his career than the beginning but the Giants will choose him over any head coach that strolls through town. McAdoo, by tough-guy throwing Manning under the bus, has made himself a marked man. The New York media hates you even when you’re winning, and the Giants are doing anything but.

The shelf life of this Giants team is set to expire soon. Eli will be almost 40-years old when his contract needs to be renewed and New York needs to consider what the future will look like. One thing that doesn’t appear to be in that future is McAdoo as head coach, as even a win on Sunday might be enough to save his job.
