NFL Draft 2018: Updated ranking of the top 32 draft prospects entering Week 7
Penn State is officially going bowling. As one would expect, the Nittany Lions had zero trouble racing out to six wins on the season. They take cook care of Northwestern with relative ease and the defense had a day as well.
They held a shutout until the fourth quarter when the Wildcats finally got some points on the board. It was another solid day at the office for Marcus Allen as well. He had five tackles and was in on plenty of plays for the defense.
One of his finest plays on the afternoon came when helped close off an option route. They Nittany Lions stopped Northwestern on fourth down and really flexed their defensive muscles on the perfect play call.
Allen’s right there in the discussion with the top safeties and he is as solid of a prospect as there is currently. The big factor for him to make that jump into the top portion of the draft is going to be his ability to cover. He has a role already at the next level and if he can show he is the complete package, it’s going to pay off even more.
A little later than most, the Virginia Cavaliers finally played their first conference game of the season on Saturday. And what a conference game it ended up being for the program as they defeated Duke.
Micah Kiser had himself a huge day in an emotional win for Virginia. With the Blue Devils looking to try and knot things up, Kiser and company managed to stop them and pick up the huge win at home.
The linebackers all around were outstanding for the Cavaliers, but Kiser once again led by example and showed why he is one of the best inside guys in the nation. He finished the day with 10 tackles.
Leaders are able to raise the play of everyone around them and a fired up crowd gives them even more energy. It was the perfect storm for a team that is trying to build momentum as they chase being bowl eligible. With a man in the middle like Kiser, they have a great shot.
