Mitch Hyatt

OT, Clemson

Mitch Hyatt continues to be the definition of consistency for the Clemson Tigers. It’s a huge thing when transitioning to a new quarterback and he has helped play a vital part into an undefeated start to the year for the defending National Champions.

Once again, Hyatt did a solid job keeping his side clean in a win. As has been mentioned repeatedly, this tackle class is so deep that there are tackles that might normally go round one that could slip out.

That means Hyatt and others will continue to have to play their best football for them to go in the first. It was a nice bounce back week for Hyatt after he gave up a sack during the previous week against Virginia Tech.

If there is one thing that currently stands out about his resume, it’s the fact he has given up only three sacks in his career. Considering all the snaps he has played throughout his career, that is a remarkable feat.

Christian Kirk

WR, Texas A&M

Christian Kirk had his biggest test of the season going against the Alabama defense on Saturday night. There is no better way to stand out as a prospect than by doing it on the field against the best team in the nation.

It hasn’t been easy for teams to get any points at all against the Crimson Tide lately, so the fact that Kirk was able to haul in a touchdown was pretty impressive to say the least. It was a tough loss for the Aggies, but they showed  a serious fight in the second half.

Kirk finished the night with 52 yards on four receptions and that aforementioned touchdown. Kirk’s one of the few receivers in this class that can really stretch the field with his speed along with his possession ability.

That’s going to make a him a hot commodity among prospects and while his receptions have been limited because of the offense this year, he’s done a good job in recent weeks making the most of them. Alabama doesn’t give up many touchdowns with their secondary, so it was a nice night all around.
