NFL Draft 2018: Updated ranking of the top 32 draft prospects entering Week 7
As mentioned about his teammate Quenton Nelson, Mike McGlinchey continues to prove why he is one of the best offensive linemen in college football as well. The two playing on the line should almost be criminal.
The way they finish off blocks is an art and they aren’t afraid to tack on a little extra punishment to go with it. He has a mean streak to himself and as a captain he leads by example with his effort for the rest of his team.
Against North Carolina, it was another day of McGlinchey and company having their way with the defense. However, he’s going to have his mind on something even bigger than taking care of the Tar Heels.
Last year, the Fighting Irish went on the road and lost against USC in an ugly season. This time, they have the Trojans in their place and a chance to have a statement victory at home. Perhaps there is no better time for McGlinchey to go out and put out his best tape of the season.
After an even start to conference play on the season, the Oklahoma State Cowboys got the week off and a chance to get ready for the stretch run. Perhaps the week off came at a great time as they got to watch Oklahoma fall to Iowa State.
That means that the conference is wide open and for anyone’s taking. Yes, they did lose to TCU already but there is plenty of time for the Cowboys to get on a run and make a special season out of it.
James Washington continues to have a big year and show off why he might be the best wide receiver in the country. His yards per reception number is ridiculous and proof that getting him the ball results in big plays.
He’s averaging 23.1 yards per catch on the season and has 647 yards on just 28 receptions. With only five games under his belt on the season and plenty more football to be played, he’s going to finish with some ridiculous numbers. With plenty to play for, his best could be around the corner.
