Start: Elijah McGuire

Since bursting onto the scene, McGuire has been a firm favorite for me, and he should be owned in every single league. This week, he should be started in every league as well. He’s averaging over five yards per carry so far in his career and has a fantastic matchup against the New England Patriots this weekend. If he’s a part of your running back rotation, you should do your best to make space for him.

The Patriots, once known for their vaunted defense that was capable of adapting its game plan to shut down opponents, has been perhaps the league’s worst this season. They are giving up the most yards in the league by far (447.2) and are second-worst in points allowed (28.4). As a rushing defense, they are 24th in the league but are the worst in the league against fantasy running backs. If there was ever a prime time to start McGuire, this would be it.

The rookie is averaging over five yards per carry (176 on 24 carries) and has memorable 69-yard run on his resume already.

With Matt Forte and Bilal Powell both still ailing, McGuire has the perfect blend of volume and opportunity.
