Sit: Doug Martin

We were all excited for Martin’s return to action last week, and he came through with a great 13 carry, 74 yards and one touchdown day. In his first game back in action this season, he ended as the PPR RB11 on the week, and his owners will be over the moon. However, he faces a tough challenge this week against an Arizona Cardinals team who are the fourth-best against fantasy running backs.

On the flip side of Larry Fitzgerald facing up against a weak Tampa Bay secondary, Doug Martin is on the other side of the field against a very challenging Arizona run defense. Despite their records and disappointing season so far, the Cardinals have been strong against the run even if their pass defense is one of the league’s worst and most exploitable in recent weeks. They are just outside the top ten against the run and allow fewer than 100 yards per game.

We can certainly expect the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to have some success as an attack. But it might not be a second strong game for Martin as he re-acclimates himself to the league after three-game suspension to start the year. Sit him for better options.
