2. Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals

When fantasy football starts up every year, players are SO excited for Week 1, we all tend to hold onto those first impressions longer than we should. I’m guilty of it as well. Palmer left an awful taste in everyone’s mouth with his Week 1 performance – 268 passing yards, 1 TD and 3 INT. Since then, Palmer has passed for over 1,200 yards and 5 TDs to just 2 INTs. One of the best things Palmer has going for him is locked in volume every week. His season-low pass attempts through five games is 36.

The Cardinals have some serious offensive line woes. That isn’t the safest thing for an immobile QB like Palmer and he is a large injury risk. The flip side of that is Arizona cannot run the football for love or money. I’m absolutely not concerned about RB Adrian Peterson joining the team. He’s 32, needs to learn a playbook and isn’t good enough anymore to navigate a bad offensive line. Coach Bruce Arians is one of the most aggressive play callers in the NFL. You’re borderline locked into 280 passing yards or more and at least a couple touchdowns. There seems to be a perception that Palmer is old and washed up. While he isn’t as good as the 2015 MVP-type season, he’s still got plenty of juice left for fantasy players.
