With upsets abound this weekend, how were the college football rankings and the Week 8 AP Poll shaken up by everything that transpired.

It’s the most wonderful time of year in the college football season: Upset Season. We’ve now reached that special time of year when the teams that we thought might be contenders are tested in conference play, even against teams they’re obviously superior to. And as we saw this past weekend, that means upsets galore.

We saw two undefeated teams fall on Friday, which was a precursor for things to come. The Clemson Tigers were the first to lose, falling to the Syracuse Orange. With Kelly Bryant getting injured and the defense not playing to its potential, it was a bad day for Dabo Swinney’s group. However, it was an even worse day for the Washington State Cougars, who were blown out by the Cal Golden Bears with Luke Falk struggling mightily.

That was only the beginning, though. On Saturday, the Washington Huskies capped off the night by losing their first game of the season, falling to the Arizona State Sun Devils. Throw in losses for Auburn, Florida and tough games for other ranked teams, and it was pure, enjoyable calamity throughout the country.

Obviously when you have a week full of madness like this, things are going to get shaken up. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the latest college football rankings and the Week 8 AP Poll for the 2017 season:

There are still several undefeated teams left out there. However, with the way that these teams are now starting to drop like flies, that could change in a hurry. Chances are, the polls next week will look even more drastically different than they do this week.
