FanDuel NFL 2017: Week 6 lineup
Running Backs:
Leonard Fournette, Jacksonville Jaguars-$8,600
Ameer Abdullah, Detroit Lions-$6,400
Fournette leapt over, ran around and ran past the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5, to the tune of 181 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. He is leading the league in carries (109) and is tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns (five), and now he gets a Week 6 matchup against the league’s 27th-ranked run defense.
The Los Angeles Rams would be even worse against the run, but the Seattle Seahawks running backs combined for just 39 rushing yards on 19 carries last week. In terms of fantasy points allowed, the Rams are second-worst in the league against running backs (29.5 per game, ESPN PPR scoring).
Fournette has been limited in practice each of the last two Wednesdays with an ankle issue, as I’m writing this. But he was a full participant at the end of last week and should be ready to roll again this Sunday. The third-most expensive running back in FanDuel this week is a worthy investment.
After one of the best games in his career in Week 4, with 109 total yards on 23 touches and a rushing score against the Minnesota Vikings, Abdullah fell to a season-low in touches (11) and total yards (34) last week.
But this week brings a nice rebound opportunity, as the New Orleans Saints have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs (ESPN PPR scoring) and the fourth-most receptions to the position (32) despite only playing four games.
Abdullah got a touchdown vultured from him last week, but he is in line for enough touches to at least pile up plenty of yards in a nice matchup for Week 6.
