1. The Yankees are back home.

There’s nothing like home sweet home right? That’s where the Yankees will be for the next three games and they presumably couldn’t be happier. During this postseason the Yankees are 3-0 at home, and all three of those games have been elimination games. Dating back to the regular season, the Yankees have won eight of their last nine home games.

The crowd has been absolutely electric at Yankee Stadium all postseason and they can feel that this team is special. New York media and the fans can eat you alive if you let them. New Yorkers weren’t happy about what happened in Game 2 of the ALDS and they let Girardi know about it.

The Yankees also score a ton of runs at home: 140 of their MLB leading 241 home runs came at home and 33 of Aaron Judge’s American League-leading 52 home runs came at home as well. Most of Judge’s damage (three out of four of his hits) in the postseason has been in the Bronx as well.

Fortunately for Judge, he’s been putting together better at-bats as the postseason has gone on, and would have had an RBI in Game 1 of the ALCS if Greg Bird wasn’t the third slowest guy on the team.

Speaking of Greg Bird — who missed about three quarters of the season — most of the damage he’s done this season has come at home as well. Eight of his nine regular season home runs happened in Yankee Stadium, along with 22 of his 28 RBI’s.

As a whole, the entire team is glad to be back home, because, like any team, that’s where they perform the best. And the Yankees would really love it if Gary Sanchez, Aaron Judge, Greg Bird and Didi Gregorius could carry the team home.

Being down is no stranger to this Yankee team, and that includes Girardi. He was on the 1996 Yankees team that was down 0-2 and went on to win four straight to capture the World Series.
