2018 NFL Mock Draft: 49ers get their franchise quarterback
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears pulled off a nice victory this past weekend, as rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky engineered his first comeback win as the team’s starter. That is a welcome sign for Bears fans, who have not seen their team have a franchise quarterback since Jim McMahon. Trubisky looks like the goods, and now it is up to the team to go out and get some solid young talent on the defensive side of the ball.
When it comes to edge rushers, there is no better player in this draft class than Arden Key. The speedy defensive end for the LSU Tigers can get to the quarterback in a flash and would be the kind of pass rusher this team desperately needs. If the Bears do bring him in, they might actually be able to get to some of these elite quarterbacks in their division like Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford.
The Bears have a long way to go, but you have to be happy with the way they are building their team. They have two solid running backs in Tarik Cohen and Jordan Howard, and their new quarterback looks to be the kind of winner they have been lacking under center. They might be a couple of years away, but bringing in a player like Key would at least give them a difference maker up front on defense.
