A unique opportunity presents itself for both Lesnar AND Mahal

Brock Lesnar’s 2017 started off pretty hot. He had a great sprint against Goldberg at WrestleMania 33, where Lesnar won the Universal Title. Next, he proceeded to have an excellent match against Samoa Joe at Great Balls of Fire. Then, he followed that up by partaking in one of the best Fatal Four-Way matches ever at SummerSlam.

Then No Mercy happened. Lesnar’s match against Braun Strowman for the Universal Title was a bit underwhelming; something about it just didn’t click. Brock and Strowman are both excellent performers, but for whatever reason, things just didn’t work out that night in Los Angeles.

Now, Lesnar has the opportunity to bounce back. And it’s a unique opportunity as well. He’ll face Jinder Mahal, who has no doubt boosted himself from relative obscurity in 2017. Assuming that Brock is ready to roll in San Antonio, he could very well do his damnedest to bring the best out of his opponent. Mahal has clicked with his opponents this year, but Brock might be the best one he’s faced this year. He had a perfectly fine match against Shinsuke Nakamura at Hell in a Cell, but Brock is obviously a different beast.

Lesnar has the chance to bounce back from his underwhelming match with Strowman. Mahal, meanwhile, has the opportunity to break out the best he’s got against one of the biggest stars in the company.
