Los Angeles Chargers (+2.5) vs. Denver Broncos

This one has my intrigue for a couple of reasons. Perhaps the AFC West isn’t as good as we think it is? The Kansas City Chiefs look to be a playoff team, but the Oakland Raiders are struggling. What do we make of the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers?

This is a revenge game for the Chargers. They will be getting a Broncos team that is coming off its worst loss of the year to the formerly winless New York Giants in primetime. Denver has a good defense, but nothing but problems at quarterback. An ineffective Trevor Siemian/Brock Osweiler combo shouldn’t be laying 2.5 points to a division rival on the road.

Take the Chargers getting points in this one. Los Angeles is coming off back-to-back wins on the year. Maybe they’ve found a recipe for success after falling into an 0-4 hole to start the season? While their two wins are only over the Giants and the Raiders, New York just beat Denver at Mile High.

Los Angeles is vulnerable in run defense, but the Broncos aren’t lighting the world on fire with their tailbacks. If quarterback Philip Rivers can take care of the football against the No Fly Zone defense, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Los Angeles get its first home of the season over rival Denver.
