2. Michigan at Penn State – 7:30 – ABC

Michigan needed overtime to beat Indiana one week after losing to Michigan State so the Wolverines aren’t playing their best football heading into their toughest test of the year to this point. Penn State was idle last week as Saquon Barkley and company were able to rest up for their battle ahead. Expect this to be a low-scoring affair with Michigan leading the nation in total defense and Penn State leading the country in scoring defense. GIve the edge to Penn State since they have the Heisman favorite, Barkley, in their backfield. A Michigan win would present a major shakeup to the Big Ten standings and College Football Playoff picture.

1. USC at Notre Dame – 7:30 p.m. EST – NBC

Two teams that were written off after early losses are very much alive in the playoff conversation. Notre Dame has won four straight since losing by one point to Georgia and USC has won two in a row after losing to Washington State. Both teams have excellent run games with USC’s Ronald Jones and Notre Dame’s Josh Adams but look for USC quarterback Sam Darnold to be the difference for the Trojans in this great rivalry game. Notre Dame has fared much better against the run than the pass this year so the Fighting Irish could be ripe for Darnold to pick them apart in front of a national audience on NBC.
