Marshawn Lynch decided he didn’t need to stick around after getting tossed from Thursday Night Football.

In very typical Marshawn Lynch “I do whatever I want” fashion, the mercurial running back has completely left the stadium after his ejection.

He may have left the locker room upset, but he seemed pretty calm walking back to the room.

What’s really going to be interesting in this aftermath is what the NFL and Oakland both do to Lynch. As far as the NFL goes, there is definitely a hefty fine and likely suspension on the way. They can’t tolerate any contact with their officials, let alone how aggressive Lynch got in the altercation. The Raiders have a mini bye week since they’re playing on a Thursday but Lynch will likely be off for a bit longer.

From the Oakland perspective, how do they feel about Lynch just leaving in the middle of the game? Logically it makes some sense. Lynch can’t play in the game anymore so why should he stick around? Still, the Raiders could view this as leaving your team in the middle of the game. Do they discipline him further than the NFL or do they just shrug it off?

It’s easy to deal with Lynch and his quirks when he’s racking up yards and trucking defenders but that hasn’t happened very often this season. If you remove the nameplate and just look at the stats, Lynch is a mediocre running back this season. Do the Raiders still want to put up with the nuisance and noise that Lynch brings?

Oakland is on the ropes right now, losers of four straight games. As of this writing, they are losing to the division rival Kansas City Chiefs. That would push their record to 2-5. If the season is lost, it could make sense to see what Jalen Richard or DeAndre Washington can do in a featured role.
