4. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have had quite the rollercoaster season. After starting out 2-0, they’ve lost two of their last three and sit at 3-3. With injury problems and a horrid offense to work with, they are in some serious trouble. Off a disappointing home loss to the Chicago Bears, the Ravens are on the road this week against the Minnesota Vikings. It’s early, but this is a must-win game for the black and purple.

Injuries have been piling up for the Ravens even before he start of the season. They’ve lost important players at just about every position. Each week it looks like they’re going to reach their breaking point, but they continue to hold on for dear life. Somehow the Ravens are still in the mix of things, but optimism isn’t too high heading forward.

There are clear problems on both sides of the ball. Joe Flacco and the passing attack have been just horrible this year. Flacco has only four touchdowns to eight interceptions and he’s had absolutely no help from his receivers. The run game is surprisingly one of the best in the NFL right now, but the offense is so one-dimensional that it’s extremely easy to stop. Some would even argue that the Ravens are zero-dimensional right now.

The goods news for the Ravens is that they’re getting back some key defensive players from injury, but a lot of these problems are not short-term fixes. The neglect to draft and acquire offensive talent is finally catching up.

Even with how bad the Ravens have played, a win somehow keeps them on pace for a playoff spot.
