2. Oakland Raiders

A $125 million quarterback, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and a rejuvenated Marshawn Lynch. You’d think this would be a recipe for success for the Oakland Raiders, but it’s been anything but that this season. After a 2-0 start, the Raiders have lost four straight games. They’re in danger of falling out of contention with another loss and enter a must-win game tonight against the Chiefs.

Derek Carr is not playing 100 percent healthy right now, but his absence hasn’t been the main problem for the Raiders. They’ve been on the back-end of poor defensive play and had little to no production from their top wide receivers.

Khalil Mack is a best, I don’t think anyone is going to discredit that, but he can’t do it alone. The rest of the Raiders defense has been awful. The secondary has been banged up with injuries and it’s showing. They’re giving up over 220 yards passing per game and plenty of big plays along with it. And on the other side, the Raiders wide receivers have been virtually non-existent. Michael Crabtree has had a decent year, but Amari Cooper is nowhere to be found. Off two straight 1,000 yard seasons, Cooper is on pace for less than 400 yards this season. If the Raiders want to turn things around, he’s got to step up.

The Raiders have lost five straight against the Chiefs, but it’s a primetime game and they’ll be backed by the Oakland crowd. Hopefully, that’s extra motivation for a team that’s desperate for a win. If they lose, you can just about call their season a bust.
