8. D’Onta Foreman, Houston

Ownership % — ESPN: 15%; Yahoo!: 14%

Role: Bench stash, potential future Flex/RB2

Foreman would probably be much higher on this list if his team wasn’t on bye this week, but c’est la vie. Foreman has been slowly but surely taking more and more work from Lamar Miller as the season has gone on, coming as close as he has yet to eclipsing Miller in week 6 with 12 carries to Miller’s 15.

It’s probably nothing, but hey, it helps my argument that the Texans should look to play Foreman more — the Texans are 3-3 this season, and the three wins occurred when Foreman had 10 or more touches; in the three losses, Foreman registered under 10. Hopefully the Texans realize that and just decide to give Foreman 10-plus touches in every game the rest of the year, in interest of going 13-3.

If not, however, he’s still a good investment. His bread and butter lately has been his ability to break off big plays — he leads the Texans with two rushes of 20-plus yards this season, both of which have occurred over the last two games.

Miller has zero rushes of 20-plus this year. Sooner or later, the Texans might decide to hand the reins over to Foreman as the primary back, especially since the Texans can get out of Miller’s contract for only $2 million this offseason if Foreman takes the job.
