Role: Bye week filler with potential for Flex/RB2

Another repeat offender from my week 7 waiver adds, Lewis is making a heck of a push to become a fantasy stud again. Here’s what I wrote earlier in the week:

"Lewis’ total touches have gone up since the season has gone on — two in the first week, five in weeks 2-4, nine in week 5 and 11 on Sunday. If that trend continues, plus goal-line work, Lewis could be back to being a reliable fantasy option sooner than later."

I don’t know for sure that the goal-line work will continue — like I said earlier in this piece, Rex Burkhead would make sense as a replacement for Mike Gillislee if Gilly is in Bill Belichick’s doghouse for a fumble last week.

But regardless, Lewis has been doing some good things lately, and could become the Pats’ primary running back between the 20s, as well as some receiving work. As it stands, Lewis has averaged a robust five yards per carry this season, which would rank him seventh in the NFL this season if he had more attempts.

Belichick loved Lewis a couple of years ago before his ACL injury — chances are, the flame has not gone out. Add Lewis while you still can.
