2018 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select another QB No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Dallas Cowboys got back to doing what they do best on Sunday, riding running back Ezekiel Elliott to a 40-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Elliott is still pending a six-game suspension, but he will play this week after a court denied the NFL’s request for an expedited preliminary injunction. As long as he is toting the rock, this team is going to be fine, and they should be drafting much later in round one before all is said and done.
With their first-round pick in 2018, the Cowboys need to do something to shore up the secondary. They lost most of their starters from their stellar 2016 team to free agency, and bringing in some good, young defensive backfield talent has to be a priority. When it comes to cornerbacks, there are few in this draft better than Tarvarus McFadden, who has been a standout player for the Florida State Seminoles during his collegiate career.
McFadden has elite coverage skills, and he has hands that you usually do not see on a defensive back. He is also an incredibly versatile player, having the ability to play all over the secondary. The Cowboys need to fill their defense with solid young talent to match the youth on the offensive side of the ball, which would make them a challenger in the NFC for years to come.
