2018 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select another QB No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Detroit Lions made the playoffs last season, grabbing a Wildcard spot after blowing a pretty sizable NFC North lead early in the year. With all the injuries in the division this season, especially at quarterback, the Lions could wind up sneaking back in and winning North, but they have a long way to go. Detroit had their bye week in Week 7, and if they want to get back in this thing, they had better start putting together some wins.
As it stands, the Lions would be drafting No. 16 overall next April, which is right in the middle of the first round. With that pick, the Lions should look to bring in some young talent along their defensive line, and Bradley Chubb from NC State is just that. Chubb is an explosive edge rusher, who has turned the NC State football program into an actual contender in the ACC this season.
The Lions have some good talent on both sides of the ball, and quarterback Matthew Stafford is currently in his prime. With Aaron Rodgers done for the season in Green Bay, the Lions have an opportunity to run away with the North, though they will have to contend with an elite defense in Minnesota. Chubb would be a difference maker for Detroit from Day One, and the team needs that kind of impact player on that side of the ball.
