2018 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select another QB No. 1
By Brad Weiss
Two weeks ago, the Arizona Cardinals went out and traded for veteran running back Adrian Peterson. That move provided instant dividends, as Peterson turned back the clock and rushed for over 130 yards in his first game with the team. Last weekend, it was a different story, as Peterson looked more like the player the New Orleans Saints were so quick to trade, and quarterback Carson Palmer ended his season with a broken arm.
Palmer was not fully expected to even play this season, as he has been toying with the notion of retiring. He had been playing solid football up until being injured, and when he went out, Drew Stanton proved he is not the starting quarterback of the future for the Cards. Arizona should look to draft a quarterback with their first-round pick next year, and Mason Rudolph of Oklahoma State is quietly moving up draft boards all over America.
Rudolph is not only a fantastic quarterback, but an even better person, and is the kind of leader that teams rally around. He has brought the Oklahoma State program into the national spotlight and has played his way into being a first-round pick over the last few seasons. Arizona needs someone who is going to step in when Palmer finally hangs them up, and Rudolph has the maturity to be able to start for an NFL team from Day One.
