Ranking 25 college football head coaches based on their ‘cool teacher’ factor
Rich Rodriguez has coached at some very high-profile programs in the last 16 years. He started out his big-time head coaching career with West Virginia in 2001, which they gave him the leaping ability to make it big with the Michigan Wolverines.
While the Michigan experiment did not work out very well, Rodriguez was always in the spotlight and kept Wolverines fans entertained each off-season (something that Brady Hoke did not do). Michigan has been spoiled with all of the fun personalities that have rolled through Ann Arbor.
Rodriguez is now coaching the Arizona Wildcats, and he’s another guy that had his back against the wall to start the 2017 campaign. Yet, Arizona has put together a good run this season and we should continue to see “Rich Rod” around more on Tucson for at least another season.
In quarterback Khalil Tate, Rodriguez has found someone who makes this an all-around great football to watch every single week. Rodriguez brings more energy to the table than almost any other coach in the country, and the Wildcats fans appreciate that.
His passion is up there with Dana Holgorsen which makes college football fans notice him just that much more. It helps you keep your job when the fan base knows everything is being laid out on the line every Saturday.
