Mark Richt

, Miami

How could you not like a head coach that gets hired at his alma mater after getting fired from another spot somewhat unfairly, and he succeeds in a huge way. So far, Mark Richt has the Miami Hurricanes in not only the ACC Championship race but also in the picture for the College Football Playoff as well.

Richt is a head coach that cares a lot about taking care of the community around him. He proved that with the Georgia Bulldogs and is showing that with Miami as well. When a team respects the head coach, good things can happen almost immediately.

In his time with Georgia, Richt took the Dawgs and turned them into a consistent competitor in the SEC East. It was very tough to win the SEC during Richt’s tenure in Athens. He was there for the height of the Florida Gators peak when Urban Meyer was at the helm. Richt also competed with Missouri Tigers former head coach Gary Pinkel when he won back-to-back SEC East Titles.

The perseverance and character that Richt shows year in and year out is something that almost all fans across the country admire. He would be a great coach to play for and seems to be doing things the right way at “The U'”. Richt could even be contributing to the return of the University of Miami to what it was from the late 1970s until the early 2000s. Miami has fought to get back to that point since. No other head coach has really worked out besides what could be a successful tenure under Richt.
