Georgia Bulldogs

Last week: Def. Florida 42-7
Last rank: 3

Georgia continued to impress with another huge win on Saturday and will almost certainly be the No. 2 team in Tuesday’s initial playoff rankings.

The Bulldogs were never threatened by rival Florida in a 42-7 romp at EverBank Field to move to a perfect 8-0 for the year. Sony Michel and Nick Chubb combined for 214 yards and three touchdowns on just 19 carries, while Florida’s woeful offense managed just 249 yards of total offense.

Kirby Smart’s team is not only undefeated but rolling over opponents with seven victories coming by at least three touchdowns. The one exception is a 20-19 win at Notre Dame on Sep. 9 which looks much better now with the Fighting Irish rising into the top 10.

Freshman quarterback Jake Fromm has been a revelation since taking over for the injured Jacob Eason with 13 touchdowns to three interceptions and over 10 yards per completion. Georgia’s running back duo might be the best in the nation, and the Bulldogs are surrendering just 11.8 points per contest.

The big question might be how well does Georgia have to play to still make the College Football Playoff even with a loss to Alabama in a potential SEC Championship Game. Georgia will look for some style points next week in a home meeting with South Carolina.
