NFL trade deadline: One move every team should make

12. New York Giants: Trade for John Brown
Who are the Giants receivers at this point? It’s been an unlucky season for the Giants as they’ve lost four of their top wide receivers on the season including Odell Beckham. You can pretty much write their 2017 season off as a loss but there are still moves to be made at the trade deadline. With no guarantee whether all of their receivers will return next season, the Giants could explore a possible trade for John Brown.
Larry Fitzgerald has been mentioned in plenty of trade rumors but I’d be surprised to see the Cardinals send him away. If anything, they’d be more inclined to trade a younger receiver like Brown who’s expected to hit the market as an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Browns’ role in the Cardinals offense has decreased over the past two seasons. He’s nowhere near his 1,000-yard season in 2015 and just isn’t getting the same opportunities in the passing game. And now with Carson Palmer out for an extended period of time, those looks are going to continue to diminish.
Brown would be a good fit in the big apple. He’d be the No. 1 receiver for the time being and would get plenty of targets. He’s still a dangerous deep threat and would take a lot of the receiving load off of rookie tight end Evan Engram. When Beckham and the other receivers return next season, Brown would add even more depth to a deep group.
