10. Oakland Raiders: Trade for Marcell Dareus

If there’s a glaring weakness on this Oakland Raiders team, it falls on the defensive side of the ball. Even with an offensive explosion against the Chiefs last Thursday, the Raiders defense still gave up 28 points. They’re 27th in the league in total yards given up and 19th against the run. A potential fix to these problems comes with Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus.

Like Martavis Bryant, Dareus has been a hot target heading into the October 31st deadline. Dareus is an extremely talented player, but his future with the Bills has been up in the air most of the season. He’s had problems with the new coaching staff and has been knocked for not completely buying into the defensive scheme. With a potential cut looming before next season anyway, the Bills have made it aware that they’re open to trading Dareus.

The Raiders desperately need help on the defensive side of the ball. Their top two leading tacklers are cornerback T.J. Carrie and safety, Karl Joseph. When the secondary is making most of the tackles, that’s a problem. You can’t discredit Khalil Mack up front, but what other help does he have? Bringing in Dareus is a high-risk move, but he could thrive in a change of scenery.

The Raiders offense seems to be back on track with the return of Derek Carr and the reemergence of Amari Cooper. It’s time for the defense to do the same and that won’t happen unless the Raiders bring in some help.
