Christian Wilkins

Defensive Tackle, Clemson

Thanks to the trade they made with the Houston Texans during the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns will pick twice in the first round. While having two picks is nice, they have to be banging their heads against the wall for passing up on Deshaun Watson. Watson has proven to be a star during his rookie year, and the Browns have played musical chairs with the quarterback position all season long.

With their second pick in round one, we like the Browns to do something to improve their defensive line. Last year, they selected edge rusher Myles Garrett first overall, and he has proven to be even better than advertised. Bringing in a player to put on the inside of the line would be a smart move with their second pick, and Christian Wilkins of Clemson is a good one.

Wilkins has the ability to not only clog up the middle against the run, but also the strength to push lineman into the quarterback. He has been a main reason why the Clemson Tigers are an elite program in college football now, helping the team to back-to-back national title games. He would give the Browns a presence in the middle they have not had in a while, as they finally try to become a relevant team in the NFL for the first time in decades.
