2018 NFL Mock Draft: Jets get their quarterback in the first round
By Brad Weiss
The Tennessee Titans have been pretty disappointing this season, as many believed they would run away with the AFC South. However, there is a still a ton of season left, and any team with Marcus Mariota under center cannot be counted out. The Jacksonville Jaguars currently hold the lead in the division, so it will be very interesting to see how this thing plays out over the last nine weeks of the regular season.
Without getting into the playoffs, the Titans will be picking around this number next April, and should look to add to their secondary with the pick. Denzel Ward from Ohio State is a good looking defensive back, and would give the Titans a solid player alongside Logan Ryan. You have to be able to protect against the pass in the AFC South, especially against the likes of Andrew Luck and Deshaun Watson.
Ward is as good a shutdown corner as there is in this draft, and he is extremely gifted physically. He also has some good hands for a defensive back, which is something you look for when picking one in the first round. The Titans are a couple of players away from being a perennial contender in the AFC, and bringing in players like Denzel Ward are only going to speed up that process in a very winnable division each season.
