Harold Landry

Edge, Boston College

The New Orleans Saints have finally turned it around after three sub-par seasons, and they may be saving head coach Sean Payton’s job in the process. The Saints have finished 7-9 in each of the last three season, and the word on the street was the organization may move on from the only coach to bring them a Super Bowl title. Well, they are one of the better teams in the NFC this season, and that is thanks to a solid draft in 2017, which has improved their defense.

One such pick was first round cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who is the best rookie corner in the NFL this season. With their first round pick in April, the Saints should once again focus on the defense, especially up front. Harold Landry from Boston College is an explosive edge rusher, and if he does in fact fall this late in round one, the Saints should waste no time writing his name on the index card.

Landry stayed in college one more year to get better, and while he is a bit banged up right now, it seems like it was a good choice. Some experts have him going in the top-10 of this draft, and you would get no argument from me if he ended up going that high. He is a fantastic player, and if the Saints can get him this late in round one, they would be putting another solid piece to the puzzle into a defense that could wind up finally being strength.
