Courtland Sutton

Wide Receiver, SMU

The Kansas City Chiefs traded with the Buffalo Bills to move up in the draft in 2017, and because of that, the Bills also get their first round pick in 2018. While we fully expect the team to go defense with their first pick in round one, it is likely they will add to the wide receiving group with their second pick. That selection could wind up being Courtland Sutton, who is used to donning the red, white, and blue while playing for the SMU Mustangs.

Sutton is a special player, and some believe he could actually be the first wide receiver off the board next April. However, if he does fall this late in round one, it would give the Bills the kind of wideout they were hoping Sammy Watkins would have become. Watkins is a now a member of the Los Angeles Rams, and the Bills are still looking for that WR1 to base their offense around.

The skill set on Sutton will translate nicely to the NFL game, as he is a fearless receiver. Not only can he beat you deep, but he also is not afraid to go over the middle, which will make him a fan favorite in Western New York. Tyrod Taylor is a good NFL quarterback, and if the Bills put a few more weapons around him, Buffalo could be the best team in the AFC East next season.
