4. Carson Wentz (Prev: 4)

If the season ended right now, Wentz might be the MVP. The Eagles are 7-1 and the second-year stud has been incredible, launching 19 touchdowns. Only Tom Brady and Alex Smith have thrown for more yardage.

3. Russell Wilson (Prev: 5)

Wilson has no protection. He doesn’t have a single elite weapon. The Seahawks can’t run for a foot. Yet, the Super Bowl champ has 2,008 yards and 15 touchdowns in only seven games.

2. Drew Brees (Prev: 2)

Brees doesn’t have to be out of his mind on a weekly basis this year, because the defense can actually play. Still, Brees has 1,951 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Saints have to be thrilled.

1. Tom Brady (Prev: 1)

Brady is 40 yards old and is leading the league by a wide margin with 2,541 yards to go with 16 touchdowns. It’s true historic at this point.
