Record predictions for every NBA team
Golden State Warriors (Projected Record: 69-13)
There’s not much to be said about Golden State that hasn’t already been said. They are the league’s 800 pound gorilla, the behemoth white whale whose pursuit kicked off the flurry of player movement we saw this offseason. They are inarguably one of the best teams ever assembled and may be the very best.
An example of the absurdity of the collection of talent on offer in the Bay is this: Andre Iguodala projects as the 26th best player on a per possession basis in my expected RPM numbers. He is the Warriors’ FIFTH best player, and he would be the best player on a number of teams in the league.
Another example: Golden State has THREE players in the top 10 of my RPM projections and only one other team has even TWO — the Rockets with Chris Paul and James Harden. The Warriors are completely unfair, and they figure to dominate the league all over again. Even with all of the trades and attempts to match them, it would be legitimately shocking to see them even challenged, let alone beaten in the playoffs.
